Build Day #1

We just finished out first build day.  What a long day it was; but it was full of hard and rewarding work.  Rob, another rider on the trip, and I worked on the roof of a home.  We were up on top of the roof in the hot sun measuring, cuttting, and nailing down the shingles to the roof.  It was the first time I did this exact type of work.  After a long day we were able to shower at the YMCA and get ready for a bbq.  The people here in New Hampshire have made us feel right at home by cooking for us and throwing us a nice welcoming party.
Tonight (Friday) will be our last night of policy meetings before we head out on a ride to Concord, New Hampshire.  There are many rules we have to learn to be as safe as possible on the road.  The first day will be about 55 miles.  Everyone is part of a chore group and I am working on "coolers" this week.  I have to fill up the coolers with water and Gatorade while also packing up the food in coolers and putting it into our trailer.  After the ride tomorrow I have to work with my group to unpack the food and store it at our new host site.  Other chores include laundry, breakfast, dinner, and packing the trailer with everyone's bags.
Hopefully I will have some great pictures to follow soon!  Keep posted and make sure to leave comments on the blog!
