Section 5-2 Assignments

5-2 Students,
   Here are the 2 assignments in combination with the regular physical education homework #2.  These two assignments are due on your next gym/health day.

1) Bones assignment

Hockey/Fitness Test Review 5th and 6th Grade

Students,
   Here is a review for a test that you will receive during the Thanksgiving week.  Let me know if you have nay questions about the material.

Here is what you need to know...
Fitness- What is the Muscle of the Month and how do you strengthen it?
How does the 5 Dot Drill help us?
What is agility?

Hockey- What is a face-off?
What is freezing the puck?  How does the goalie do this?
How are you supposed to hold the stick?
How does the referee begin the game?

Homeworks are due Wednesday, December 4th!

Students,
   The homework assignments for each grade are due on December 4th, which is a Wednesday.  Remember to do the right assignment for your grade.  5th Graders should complete the Sportskid of the Year assignment while the 6th graders should complete the Sam Hurd assignment.  Remember to hand it in on time or you will not receive credit.

6th Grade Homework- due date to follow

Students,
  Please read the article that is linked to the bottom of this post.  Answer the following questions in complete sentences.  Please use thoughtful and detailed answers on the critical thinking questions.

1.        Which football teams did Sam Hurd play for in his career?
2.       He was arrested for certain crimes.  What were they?
3.       How much money was his football contract with the Chicago Bears worth when he was arrested?
4.       Do you think his decision to sell and use drugs was foolish?  Please explain your answer.
5.       What are three potential consequences of being a drug dealer?  ***We have not learned this yet.  You will have to research this or ask someone who might know the answer.
