Racing

Students,
It turns out the race I was thinking of entering was not one that I was able to attend. However, I am excited to put my training into action. There are not many races coming up because it is the winter season. I am definitely doing a 5 kilometer running race (3.1 miles) on February 11th. I am debating doing one the week before in early February. Stay tuned to the blog because I will be putting results from the races I do next month.

Keep exercising,
Mr. Goldstein

5-2 Homework

5-2 Students,
You must write a letter to a friend or a made up character telling them 2 things.
1) How does someone gain weight?
2) How does someone lose weight?

Please be creative and use examples from class using the calorie balance equation. You should use the website from the earlier post.

Due next F Day!

Basketball tonight

Sorry students,
A little bit of a mix up, the basketball tonight is on TNT and ESPN and ESPN2. Those are channels 35,36,37 on IO. Also, if you have DirecTV that would be 206,209 and 245 or 247 I believe!

Basketball Games tonight (HW3)

Students,
For those of you doing the homework tonight, there is a NY Knicks basketball game on tonight on MSG Network. It is channel 71 for IO/Cablevision customers. Also, there is a late night game on TNT if you are staying up late (37 on IO).

I am thinking about entering a 3 mile running race this Saturday as my first race of the season. Comment on the blog or come see me to encourage me to sign up!

Training notes

Students,
This past weekend the weather was amazing. I took full advantage of it to get some miles in on my bicycle for my training program. Saturday I rode my bicycle into midtown Manhattan and back. It is an amazing sight being on the George Washington Bridge. Also, Sunday I rode for almost two hours as well.
I am getting ready for a running race this Saturday. I will post the results after the race this weekend.

Thanks,
Mr. Goldstein

- You are to make a list of the 6 main nutrients that we discussed in class. Name a food that has a high amount for each nutrient.
-For example, I could write meat as an example of a food that has a lot of protein. Make that association for each of the 6 nutrients!

I look forward to seeing your work!
