Support the hometown NJ Devils as they battle for the Stanley Cup. You can find games on every other night on NBS channel 4. The next game is Friday night and it will be Game #2. Hockey is a very interesting sport in person and on television.

Answer the following using complete sentences!
1. Describe the different sporting events that took place at Hinchcliffe Stadium.
2. Name some of the historic Negro League teams and players that played in the stadium.
3. Would you attend a game at the stadium if it were still operating today? Why or why not?
4. What was the most successful Negro League team of the 1930s and ‘40s?
5. How was the baseball color barrier broken?
6. How would it make you feel if you were not allowed to play in Major League Baseball because of your race. Explain your answer with detail.
Race results
Students,
I had told many of you I had one of my biggest races this past weekend. The task was to run 2.6 miles, bike 17 miles and run another 2.6 miles. The task was very challenging. The bike part was espeically hard because there were many hills that were right into the wind. Please check the link to find my results. I did very well on the run parts, but could have done better on the bicycle. I got 2nd in my age group, but a little but of faster biking could have won me the group. Maybe next year!

Health homework
Students,
In addition to the phys ed homeworks due this Wednesday, each class with have a health homework due with the exception of 6-2.
5th Graders must write two paragraphs explaining the negative effects of tobacco. Please use your notes or you can also research online
6th graders must research a drug treatment facility online and hand in information about the facility. Please ask me if you have any questions.
Homeworks are due at the beginning of the next health class.

I had a great race this past Saturday at the 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) distance. You can check my results here.
