Race results

Students,
   I had told many of you I had one of my biggest races this past weekend.  The task was to run 2.6 miles, bike 17 miles and run another 2.6 miles.  The task was very challenging.  The bike part was espeically hard because there were many hills that were right into the wind.  Please check the link to find my results.  I did very well on the run parts, but could have done better on the bicycle.  I got 2nd in my age group, but a little but of faster biking could have won me the group.  Maybe next year!

Health homework

Students,
  In addition to the phys ed homeworks due this Wednesday, each class with have a health homework due with the exception of 6-2. 

5th Graders must write two paragraphs explaining the negative effects of tobacco.  Please use your notes or you can also research online

6th graders must research a drug treatment facility online and hand in information about the facility.  Please ask me if you have any questions.

Homeworks are due at the beginning of the next health class.

Unfortunately, they have me down as a female (weird) so that messes up the results a little bit.  I got my best time yet and this proves that hard work really pays off.

Hockey Game 7

Students,
   The New Jersey Devils and NY Rangers are playing elimination games in the hockey playoffs tonight.  Try IO channels 71 and 72 at 7 and 8pm.  Very exciting!

Students,
   The 2nd homework is a vocabulary assignment.  Make sure to 1) define the word 2) use it in a sentence and 3) write an original thought about the word.

Race results for 4/21

Students,
  I competed in another race last Saturday.  I always post my results on the blog.  You can find me on this site.

I finished 34th out of a few hundred runners.  I did not run my best time, but I am still encouraged because the course did have a lot of hills in it.  I will be competing in at least three more before the end of the school year.

Students- if you miss PE class due to testing this week, make sure to get exercise on your own after school.
