Homework #1 for 3rd Quarter

Students,
This homework is due on Tuesday, February 19th.  I do not accept late homework!  Please use complete sentences!

Denard Robinson
The Quarterback known as Shoelace is Ready to Restore Michigan Back to Glory
(this article is from Sports Illustrated for Kids)
In Denard Robinson’s hometown of Deerfield Beach, Florida, locals knew about his talents long before he ever put on a Michigan uniform.  As a seven year old in pee-wee football, the quarterback was nicknamed Shoelace because diving defenders would accidentally untie his shoelaces when Robinson ran past them.
But the rest of the country was introduced to Shoelace two years ago, when, in his first year as the Wolverines’ starter, he rushed for 1,702 yards, an FBS single season record, threw for 2,570 and accounted for 32 total touchdowns.  Last season, he amassed 3,349 total yards and 36 touchdowns.
Robinson has proven himself as the nation’s most dynamic dual-threat QB, but this off-season he focused on third skill: leadership.  He became more vocal with his teammates, going out of his way to help younger players and organizing 7 on 7 scrimmages.
In May, Robinson and 21 other seniors headed to California to train with a team of Navy SEALS.  The grueling drills and daily leadership classes taught Robinson a valuable lesson.  “Be accountable for everything you do,” he says.
The clear goal for Michigan this year is to win its first Big Ten title in eight years.  Make no mistake- Shoelace is ready for the challenge.
